Staging. This is always where I have a bit of a meltdown. I work for weeks and weeks and keep trucking everything I finish to the shop. We open the door and toss it in! Okay...not really toss, but that is what it looks like we did when you walk in after 4 weeks of it. So you stand in the middle of a store that has been randomly filled up and start figuring out what should go where. It can be scary. It can be a blast! It can be hard work... it often starts out overwhelming. Bring me a martini!
Lucky for me that with this next show being bigger than most, I had awesome help today! Jessica to the rescue! If you had to move all the furniture in your entire home, wouldn't you prefer to have a friend with you to help confirm your decisions or come up with a better plan? I would!! This is where that blessing of good friends that seem to enjoy helping me comes into play. I am depending on all my friends this month at various stages and I'm sure we are going to have a great time! But again... we are doing this wrong by starting to work in the morning with coffee, and need to make it an evening activity with those cocktails I mentioned! I do believe I promised Jill wine if she helps me re-tag everything, so I guess I'm moving in the right direction! haha
This is the evidence that Jessica was here helping. My back room was a disaster and now even my snacks are organized! Totally a bonus to having friends that are neat freaks. Love that!
Little by little it starts to come together and I get excited to start accessorizing! Bring on the vintage ornaments, the chandeliers, the hand made mittens and stockings, the holiday candles and Christmas decorations and maybe some hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps! Oh yeah... and the rest of the furniture!
