I love making something out of nothing... or out of something else. In this case, out of an industrial bakery cart for gargantuan mixing bowls. This has been in and out of my storage unit and basement while I kept searching for the right idea or top. And low and behold.... I found both!
After finding the greatest piece for a top, I cut it down to size and sanded the edges, but it just wasn't very special. Covering it with a dark stain helped but it still needed something special.
It finally came to me! I have a pile of wine barrel bands I save for lighting projects. I cut a couple of them using a saw-zaw, then after a lot of drilling I had a way to attach it to the top and add even more to the industrial look. I love the way the silver ties in with the color of the cart! After attaching the top to the cart I now have a large, unique and totally cool accent table! It's so rewarding when "something else" turns into "something special"!
Who Am I?
I've tried it all..hair stylist/faux painter/stay at home mom/jewelry artist/late in life college student. Through all of those former "careers" I have had one constant passion.. a love of junk, flea markets and creating! It took me 30 years to find the courage do this full time and I have finally settled on what I'm going to be when I grow up!
