Once in awhile there is just this piece.... this piece that you have painted and updated, and buffed and fluffed... and nothing.  No one really gives it a look or a chance.  Time after time it's just glanced at or ignored.  It's time to reconsider!  Maybe it's like an ugly baby? If it's yours, it's beautiful and you don't see what others can see?  Nahh!  It's just to "styled"?  Maybe too specific to blend in with most people's decor? Yes! Let's go with that one! Time to give it another go 'round.  A whole new "look"!  A new chance at life in a happy home. :)

Time to break out the Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Luckette Green!  I love trying to get a random chippy paint look on a piece that is far from chippy.  With the previous paint being a blue chalkpaint, I thought a green milk paint would look great with peeks of blue showing through.  Milk paint doesn't really last long once it's mixed up, so I tend to walk around looking for anything to slap my leftover paint on.  If it's standing still, it's going to be painted! This time a glass cake stand and the plaster lamp also got free make-overs.  Once it was sanded down and the flaky new paint started to pop off, the awesome layers of colors started showing through and the cherubs are now good to go!

Cut to final product (because I forgot to keep taking photos to document the process. oops!)  The dresser is now more confident and proudly showing off in the front window.  See how random the chippy-ness is? Several drawers had paint flake off perfectly, while the other two held tight to their paint.  Makes it look even more like the years of layered old paint are showing. Now it just needs a home.

    Who Am I?

I've tried it all...hair stylist/faux painter/stay at home mom/jewelry artist/late in life college student/retail shop owner/design consultant/home stager.  Through it all my favorite things to do have been sharing DIY ideas, thrifting, and making something out of nothing.
Combine some of those and you get the perfect storm; Owning, renovating, styling and hosting in an airbnb!  Chris and I put our own touches to the structure, then I thrift and build most of what I need to create a unique and special environment for guests to enjoy.  Being an Airbnb host is so fulfilling for me!   Connecting guests with the communities and all they have to offer  as well as creating great memories is just the best!
