![]() The never ending Ohio winter pushed me to think outside the box.... or should I say, outside the state! So an adventure was planned for my first buying trip sans hubby. I am not so skilled at parking and backing our 12 foot trailer, so a nice huge rental felt more my speed. After flying into Charlotte I hopped in a taxi and picked up my truck. No checked bags of nice clothes for this gal! No, I paid to check my flea market cart! haha It's important to save myself as many trips to the truck with heavy items as possible, and my orange cart is my best flea market friend. ![]() Breaker Breaker 1-9 Those of you my age recall those days pre-cell phone, and you might even have memories like I do of a family vacation on the road when dad let us talk to the truckers on our CB radio. That would have been fun entertainment for me this week while driving home from North Carolina all alone. First stop... The Depot At Gibson Mill! When we visited in February I left behind two chippy porch chairs.... and not the first time (or second) that I have bought something and drove away without it! The before of a huge empty truck, but I did get my chairs! I just love this place! It's HUGE! ![]() After a good nights sleep it's time to hit the flea market. I absolutely enjoyed the 80+ degree temps and sunshine! I met some wonderful vendors at the Extravaganza, and will even be carrying some new items in the shop from a few. I also got some wonderful "insider" info on some great places to fill the truck with treasure from a talented husband and wife team and owners of 21 Junk Street. LOVE their name! ![]() Crazy coincidences seem to happen to me a lot! I stopped at this booth for obvious reasons, but also because I had seen Olive (the trailer) and this shop on Facebook. Loved the funky upholstered pieces and right away started chatting it up with Meghan, the owner of The Go Girl Shoppe. She tells me that she is soon taking her first trip to Ohio, and it turns out she is going to be joining me and lots of other talented vendors at The Home Girl Barn Sale in Hudson! You just never know who you will meet and how you can be connected! Who knew I would fly south to attend a flea market where I would randomly meet a total stranger that I was going to be meeting in June. Weird! One sunburn, tons of junk food, 3 coffees, another hotel and a lot of gas later.... I make it home! When the truck gets unloaded of some great finds, I hope to get some pics and share on Facebook. This trip definitely left me feeling very capable (capable of asking old men to help me carry heavy things! haha). It also left me with many hours alone to reconnect with some classic rock and golden oldies.... enjoy the ride!
