MY HAPPY PLACE

Finally a studio...or creative playroom! Thanks in part to snow days and a work break, there is now a place to make a mess and then shut the door! If you read the blog post last August about Chris's office make-over, you know that the main motivation was to get this room all to myself.  Little, by little... and I do mean LITTLE, it finally came together.

The Before... Junk room, paperwork, fabric, books... and more junk.

The Studio

These were some old metal file drawers from the flea market, now filled with possibilities. I love having a place to appreciate my junk, instead of it being tucked in boxes all over the basement (the "other" junk room").  Sometimes, just being able to see a collection is enough to give me an idea. It may be a bag of old keys, or a jar of crystals, but I am easily distracted.

Some days it's the colors that woo me.

The old cabinet on the right is now a place to store
all of my beads, stones
and jewelry making supplies.
It's already giving me the itch to
take time
and make new jewelry.

These photos were taken yesterday, and it already looks nothing like this!  Picture fabric and foam scraps all over the floor, the staple gun hanging on an overturned chair and tools piled on the table... one day was all it took, but now my living room is still clean and I can just close this door. Happy!!

    Who Am I?

I've tried it all...hair stylist/faux painter/stay at home mom/jewelry artist/late in life college student/retail shop owner/design consultant/home stager.  Through it all my favorite things to do have been sharing DIY ideas, thrifting, and making something out of nothing.
Combine some of those and you get the perfect storm; Owning, renovating, styling and hosting in an airbnb!  Chris and I put our own touches to the structure, then I thrift and build most of what I need to create a unique and special environment for guests to enjoy.  Being an Airbnb host is so fulfilling for me!   Connecting guests with the communities and all they have to offer  as well as creating great memories is just the best!
