![]() It's snowing! It's cold! It's Valentines Day! Put them all together and what do you get? A sweet treat... Snow Ice Cream!! If you haven't made this before then you better get your boots and mittens on because it's THE BEST ice cream, and you can make it right now and eat it in front of your warm crackling fire. I'm going to share the "general" recipe but it's all about making it to taste... Take a BIG bowl or two out into the blizzard, dip it into the fresh snow and scoop! Start pouring in a little milk, add vanilla and sprinkle in some sugar. You know it's done when you get a homemade ice cream thickness (thicker than slush-thinner than hard dip). Taste and add more sugar to your liking... but if you prefer some structure here is an actual recipe: *note if you use condensed milk you may not need sugar: We grew up making this on snow days and over the years my family has all made adaptations to taste. I think my mom has started melting a snickers bar and stirring it into her ice cream. My kids prefer chocolate so we began using Ovaltine instead of all the sugar and vanilla. My favorite is straight up vanilla, but I think tonight I'm going to melt in some of the Ande's mints I got from my Valentine this morning. Enjoy your Saturday night treat and Happy Valentines Day!
