We made it!  And we immediately got to work.... well I wouldn't call it work.  I would call it FUN + some dirt, sweat, mud and A LOT of gas.  Thursday is the official start date of The Worlds Longest Yard Sale but we decided to take a drive rather than check in to our hotel and so glad we did!

Two awesome things happened this evening, aside from great finds...

First, we met Rick Stewart from Hat Creek Antiques in Alabama.  Rick had awesome industrial lights, and I loved them!  He was happy to share his knowledge about lighting design.  Thanks for the tips Rick! (and the awesome tailgate!)

The second awesome things that happened was that I met Dewanna Ward!

Now this part is so cool to me... Dewanna is from Louisiana and happened to be in Alabama for the same reason I was, and happened to end up in the same front yard where I was chatting with Rick... and she recognized me!!!    She walked over, pointed at me and said "Rust & Found, right?"...  Crazy!!  She follows my facebook page.  I was flabbergasted!!  So fun! We chatted and she shared her tips for the sale, which she and her hubby have done for years.

So the goodies.... of course I made lots of purchases tonight and we have not even scratched the surface yet!  Below are my two favorite so far, and I can't wait to get home and get busy.

Yep! That's a tailgate! Here are a few pics of some rather unique or fun items from tonight:

Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!  Up early because we hear the traffic will be what really slows us down tomorrow.  More from the south tomorrow!

    Who Am I?

I've tried it all...hair stylist/faux painter/stay at home mom/jewelry artist/late in life college student/retail shop owner/design consultant/home stager.  Through it all my favorite things to do have been sharing DIY ideas, thrifting, and making something out of nothing.
Combine some of those and you get the perfect storm; Owning, renovating, styling and hosting in an airbnb!  Chris and I put our own touches to the structure, then I thrift and build most of what I need to create a unique and special environment for guests to enjoy.  Being an Airbnb host is so fulfilling for me!   Connecting guests with the communities and all they have to offer  as well as creating great memories is just the best!
