The photo shoot for Farmhouse Frocks was so much more than I had expected it to be. Yes, there were racks of beautiful clothing, a talented photographer and lots of smiling faces. But there was also my mom looking so amazing and happy, my friend glowing as she adding her talented touches to every outfit, my sister getting to share in it with me, a gorgeous location where we were surprised around every corner, and a new friend getting to see her dream come to life! That is a lot to take in all in one moment, but I was lucky enough to be able to! Thank you Lena Schlabach for letting me be a part of your plan!
I will try to start at the beginning... when we arrived at the Warwick Farms location in Mt. Vernon, we walked into the room full of dreamy clothing, with everyone sorting and hanging. I immediately became so much more excited to be carrying this line at the shop! Each piece was more beautiful than the last. Upcycled clothing made of both vintage and new fabrics and altered clothing. Of course I focused right in on the piece I had to have for myself!
Lena, who is the founder and heart of Farmhouse Frocks, was busy deciding which model should wear which pieces... not an easy task as everything looked great on everyone! Her clothing is meant to fit all women of any size and that includes plus sizes. The styles are also beautiful on every age, as you will see in the resulting photos... from preteen to the more mature woman. Perfect.
As the photo shoot began, Alyssa of Lyssa Ann Portraits, became the subject of Lena's daughter Sydney's own photo shoot.
Syndey takes a little direction and then rocks it! She is wearing 3 different pieces from Farmhouse Frocks... the slip dress under a sweet long skirted tank, and the embellished denim jacket.
Sharing my moms moment...
Such fun to stalk Alyssa as she chose locations for my moms moment in the spotlight. Isn't she beautiful? She killed it!!!.... oh if only I had inherited those cheekbones!
A closer look at some of the textures and looks from the clothing and jewelry.....
And how beautiful is this "expecting mother" in these delicate layers? She was truly glowing all evening!
Who Am I?
I've tried it all..hair stylist/faux painter/stay at home mom/jewelry artist/late in life college student. Through all of those former "careers" I have had one constant passion.. a love of junk, flea markets and creating! It took me 30 years to find the courage do this full time and I have finally settled on what I'm going to be when I grow up!
