Twas the night before move in and all through the house,
there were echos of hammers that would deafen my spouse.
The carpet was pulled from
the floor with care,
in hopes that hardwood would be under there.
The children were nestled all
snug in their beds,
but no longer live here so no hammering in their heads.
With Ma in her sweat pants and
dad with his knife,
the carpet was going to be ending it's life.
When up in the office their arose
such a noise,
as we found hardwood beneath and cheered and rejoiced!
We sprang from the room to
grab some Bud Light,
with work to do it would be a long night.
The moon on the silver of staples to pull,
made me realize this floor would need some steel wool.
When what to our wondering
eyes should appear
but samples of stain choices
and a couple more beers.
With several test samples
and some stain aroma,
we knew right away the best color was Kona!
More rapid than Eagles,
my sander did fly and this
tired body worked
into the night...
Now! knee pads! Now! old joints!
Now! sore hands and blisters!
On music, on work hard,
a new room for Mister!
(okay that was a stretch!)
From corner to corner! From wall to wall! The shiny new wood
is sure to enthrall!
Hubby's office is finished,
with new wall color too!
The little girl turquoise left him feeling too blue.
But now his man space will give him a thrill,
let's see if he's smiling when I send him my bill.
Who Am I?

Through all of those former "careers" I have had one constant passion.. a love of junk, flea markets and creating! It took me 30 years to find the courage do this full time and I have finally settled on what I'm going to be when I grow up!
